Patt Lind-Kyle, MA, PhD
Patt Lind-Kyle has a broad range of interests. She has taught in the
academic world, created a small business, practiced as a management
consultant and executive coach and has had her own private counseling
practice.
Patt’s research and interest in the mind/brain field led her to develop
a learning style assessment company to help children and parents
understand how they learn. She has been involved in the teaching and
application of personality styles to individuals and organizations for
the past 25 years.
Patt’s current interest is exploring the exciting new brain/mind
research and working with the new tools of neuro-monitoring to help
individuals become more effective with their brain/mind potential. She
completed an 18-month research project learning how individuals shift
their mental, emotional and spiritual view of themselves and the world
to function in a larger, more comprehensive view of reality.
The passion for understanding the relationship between the brain and
the mind has come from 35 years of personal exploration through
extensive meditation practice. She has studied with a variety of
teachers in the Theravada tradition doing as many as twenty or more
silent ten day to two week retreats, several month long retreats, two
three month retreats and a six month long silent self retreat. She
teaches workshops and classes using the model of brain/mind exploration
and works with individuals customizing the unique way an individual can
find their own path of inner exploration.

Patt works with her husband, David, in
executive development work in Fortune 50 and 500 companies. Her
consulting focus includes executive coaching, Brain-Mind development
for high performance, stress management, emotional regulation, optimal
health and how women can lead and manage more effectively.
As a professor of Community Health and Dental Hygiene, Patt taught for
15 years at the University of Hawaii, Foothill College, San Jose State
University, and University of California at San Francisco. Her academic
preparation has been a BS at the University of Southern California in
Biology and an MA at the California Institute of Integral Studies in
East/West Psychology. Her thesis focused on the emerging right/left
brain research and from this developed a program to teach community
health techniques to indigenous people in Guatemala.
Patt’s early interest was in the research of inner development and
optimal performance. One such focus was an in-depth research program
with woman leaders. She interviewed over 40 woman leaders on the West
Coast to find what happens to women working in a man’s environment. She
focused her study on how the male work place has affected women leaders
feminine qualities, their health, their professional outlook and their
concerns as spouses and companions. Her book that describes this work
and her own story as a professional woman is entitled, When Sleeping
Beauty Wakes Up: A Woman’s Tale of Healing the Immune System and
Awakening the Feminine (Swan/Raven & Co., 1992). Patt is also a
contributor in an anthology, Audacious Aging with her chapter entitled
“Building Community from the Inside Out” (Elite Books, 2009). Her new
book is entitled, Heal Your Mind, Rewire Your Brain: Applying the
Exciting New Science of Brain Synchrony for Creativity, Peace and
Presence. (Energy Psychology Press, 2009)
Emmett Miller, MD, one of the founders of Holistic medicine said of
Patt’s new book, “Patt Lind-Kyle has accomplished a remarkable feat,
bringing together fascinating neuroscience and effective
Self-development tools in the same book. Add to that her warmth,
wisdom, and clinical skill and you have a refreshing joy of a read to
boot! Bravo.”
