Overview

Lind & Kyle’s Brain-Mind Development Programs are for individual executives and executive teams. Each program uses advanced brain-mind research, technologies and uniquely designed practices to take an executive to higher levels of job performance, decision-making, personal balance and creativity.

Wilder Penfield, the great brain surgeon and researcher, offered a distinction between the brain and the mind. Penfield concluded that the mind and brain are separate entities; that the mind perceives the brain’s perceptual functions but is not the result of those functions… that the mind “runs” and in turn draws its sustenance from the brain.

All individuals who engage in any Brain-Mind Development Program is given a brain-wave diagnostic analysis to determine their current and potential brain-mind awareness and focus. Receiving a computer generated visual feedback of one’s own brain pattern, and given the understanding, tools and techniques of how to develop or alter those patterns and configurations gives a motivation to increase one’s optimal brain-mind development.

The understanding coming from neuroscience (which is the study of the brain) along with the applied work in biofeedback and neuro-feedback (methods to stimulate change in the brain-mind functioning) has provided understanding and tools that can literally increase the capacity of our brain-mind (our biology and psychology) to work in greater harmony and increase levels of performance and personal well being that will change the way a person lives and works.

The exciting results of the new brain-mind research demonstrate that because of the neuro-plasicity of the brain, old brain-mind patterns can and will change. Through the use of bio and neuro feedback tools one can change the neuronal pathways of the brain through conscious attention. Lind & Kyle consultants use newly developed equipment and software like the Brain Mirror™, Mind Alive™ and HeartMath® technologies to help individuals to learn to clarify thinking flow patterns, alter the configurations of the four brain wave patterns and develop one’s own unique optimal brain-mind functioning.

Mastering the Mind

The Challenge
Every day an executive is challenged by how to out-think the competition, how to meet the customer need, how to have the right product or service, how to envision the future, how to solve thorny problems, how to deal with interpersonal and intra-functional conflicts, how to handle one’s own emotions and how to juggle the daily pressure and stress of constant demands for one’s time and attention. Where an individual turns to deal with the “work” of being a leader, a manager and a developer of people and organizations is within one’s own mind.

Knowing how to access all levels of the four brain wave states gives executives greater potential to experience their unique pathway to deal with the complexities of their role as well as the personal challenges it causes in their relationships and general life conditions.

Process
With the use of neuro-diagnostic equipment to evaluate brain wave patterns and by using entrainment equipment to change or enhance the patterns, the individual in this program learns a unique process to maximize his or her brain-mind potential. After reviewing visually the analysis of the set of diagnostic protocols, a person is given a developmental set of techniques, CDs and sound patterns designed to optimize his/her brain functioning.

Relaxation: Using the Four Brain Wave Patterns

The Challenge
Most executives live in a constant state of unconscious stress that limits optimal performance of job responsibilities, harms the interpersonal communication and interaction with colleagues and subordinates, and often negatively impacts spouse and family relationships. Most of all, this constant stress fatigues and debilitates the physical body, often causing compensation in substance abuse and leading to serious conditions such as heart problems, immune diseases and the like.

The Process
Using a neuro-spectral analysis tool called the Mind-Mirror™ and a stress biofeedback program called HeartMath®, an individual in this program is given two diagnostic baselines of both the stress pattern and the brain-wave mind-flow. Individual techniques are designed by the consultant to reduce stress and bring awareness to stabilize brain frequencies into a relaxed, open focused state of mind.

Benefits:

  • Feedback training brings awareness to alert both the brain-mind and the body when it is going into stress and then how to shift the mind-flow and brain wave patterns to reduce the stressors.

  • Individual techniques for maintaining daily stress reduction will be given to each executive based on the neuro-spectral analysis.

Decision-Making and Contemplation

The Challenge
By far the most significant act for which executives are held accountable is the quality of their decisions. Being able to contemplate the full range of an opportunity, strategy, organizational issue or financial challenge is what opens up possibilities and insights that can lead to the kind of decision that can make a significant difference for the organization, for the customer and for the shareholder.

The Process
In this program executives learn to deepen awareness by focusing the placement of their mind in full, open attention. This establishes the ability for authentic decision-making in a contemplative manner. Using the Brain Mirror™ analysis protocols and Mind Alive™ entrainment technology, as well as sound techniques and specially designed CDs, an individual can gain access to the appropriate brain wave pattern that moves him/her into a contemplative state and into a deeper and clearer knowledge of the decision one needs to make.

The Benefit:

  • Achieve the ability to open up the range of perception in order to see decisions as they emerge on the horizon of experience, rather than be surprised by them, in order for the decisions to be more timely and of higher quality.

Releasing Potential: Unblocking Creativity and Innovation

The Challenge
It is not uncommon that executives often reach an individual “Peter Principle” where their potential to create, innovate and lead seems blocked. Coming up to the level of one’s incompetence (as the Peter Principle implied) is a hard thing to confront in oneself. When one comes up to a fundamental limitation the challenge is whether to take oneself on as a project of development or not. But the question is often “How do I break through? What do I develop?” The research in neuroscience points the way to opening and accessing more individual potential.

The Process
This program focuses on the mind/personality pattern blocks that limit executives in their leadership potential as well as their capacity for creativity and innovation. Using the diagnostic tools of neuro-analysis and the Enneagram, the individual is taken into layers of their brain-mind to find and release the blocks and barriers to his/her perceived limits. The Enneagram is an ancient psychophysical model that has been updated and is used to reveal the blind spots that stop and trap people from living and performing an effective and meaningful life.

The Brain-Mind Science of Meditation

The Challenge
The struggle of every executive is to find a daily, simple practice that can help him or her maintain physical, emotional and mental balance in his or her life. The art of meditation has been a strategy that provides a method for people to easily and quickly return to an inner, calm, centered place within themselves in order to meet the daily stress and challenges of their leading and managing.

Meditation for some has the connotation of religious and spiritual, when in fact it is a natural functioning of the brain-mind. The Brain-Mind Science of Meditation program (which can serve both the individual as well as the group needs of an executive team) opens a person to the direct experience of the meditative states. Using the configuration of the four brain-waves one will learn to understand and traverse the different levels of human consciousness and awareness that has been an art, but is now truly a science.

The Process
In the eight two-hour sessions, the specific brain wave patterns of beta, alpha, theta and delta will be explored for their specific meditative qualities and characteristics. Each participant will be given a preliminary neuro-analysis to create a baseline for how to explore his or her unique brain wave characteristics. Two sessions will be devoted to each brain wave state. There will be experiences and practices given with each brain wave state in order to develop self-awareness and control at each of the four stages. One of the outstanding results of this program is that each individual will learn a meditation practice that fits his/her unique brain wave pattern.

Benefits:
The benefits of scientific meditation are well documented as to their positive impact physiologically, neurologically and psychologically.

  • Physiologically, it has been established that a short daily meditation practice can reduce heart and respiratory rate, lower blood pressure and blood cortisone levels as well as reduce carbon dioxide in muscle tone.
  • Neurologically, consistent meditation changes brain electrical activity and stabilizes the nervous system.
  • Psychologically, meditation practice deepens relaxation, reduces depression, calms anxiety, stabilizes emotions and opens one to clear insights, rational problem solving and more balanced relationships.
