Our Philosophy
Cultivating leadership competency for executives and
senior managers is one of the critical challenges of organizations
today.
The capacity to establish leadership is a developed
skill that demands dedication, understanding and practice. There is no
"special" type of person that makes a leader. However, learning to lead
effectively is a challenge and is different than managing people or
functions.
Growing leadership capacity demands a rigorous and
intense understanding of oneself and the development and practice of
fundamental leadership "powers".
People generally know, when they need to take their
next step in leadership development. This realization occurs when a
person experiences the "gap" between the positional power he or she
holds in the organization and the limitation of his or her personal
power to influence people and guide the organization successfully.
Having the position of "boss" doesn't necessarily mean
that one can guide and inspire, focus the activity, understand the
patterns and dynamics of the organization and initiate creativity and
enthusiasm that can move ten people or ten thousand people toward
effective and efficient results.
Often, individuals don't know how to develop that
personal leadership power within themselves that needs to match the
positional power with which they have been entrusted.
The Natural Next Step
Using a wide range of assessment tools, proprietary
models and pragmatic good sense, Lind & Kyle Consultants help an
executive frame his or her "natural next step" in developing leadership
capacity. We believe timing in taking the "next step" is important.
Each person generally recognizes his or her own leadership growth needs
and knows when it is time to work on its development. Lind & Kyle's
assistance is to help focus the leadership development process in the
context of practical work and the daily challenges an executive faces.
